I’ve always had complicated feelings about Breakfast at Tiffany’s — movie and book alike— but I am an unequivocal admirer of Truman Capote, who at his best is in my opinion one of America’s greatest prose stylists. His unfinished novel Answered Prayers has passages I never tire of rereading.
