Like Johnny Lee, the country-western singer desperately looking for love, science has been looking in all the wrong places, I think. Surely homochirality emerged with the emergence of biopolymers during the origin of life — as distinguished from emergence at the level of monomers before life ever was.
What, if I may ask, precipitated this particular piece less than 2 months ago, on the final day of August? Was it anything specific? Or was it simply a subject you'd been meaning to articulate, by means of the written word, in a style as limpid as it is concise?
